The following photos were taken by an armed security person who was hired by
the unfriendly front neighbors to patrol the gate at the county road where one had
to enter and then cross to get into Wheeler's Ranch. The guard requested ID and
a photo from anyone he encountered. After he was laid off, he gave the collection to
the folks on the Ridge as a peace offering.
Many folks gave imaginative names, and some were not happy to be approached
in this manner, which explains the 'mug shot' expressions on some of the faces.
Who can blame them!
Many people came only for a day or two, and the weekends saw a big influx , especially on warm, sunny days. A lot of those campers never got too much farther than just beyond the front gate, where partys and get togethers could be found.
(thanks Mary Garvin, for helping with the scanning : ) )
and Ramon for the pictures and most of the words.
